Seperti dikutip dari TheRegister, apps tersebut sudah mulai nampak bocorannya. Adalah blogger Rafael Rivera dan Paul Thurrott, yang memang punya perhatian khusus pada Windows, yang menemukan salah satu apps pertama untuk Windows 8.
Aplikasi itu bernama Modern Reader, sebuah aplikasi yang berfungsi sebagai pembaca dokumen ala PDF Reader. Modern Reader konon nantinya akan dibundel dalam Windows 8.
Rivera dan Thurrot mengatakan, aplikasi itu menggunakan paketan AppX. Diduga AppX ini terkait dengan user interface dengan nama kode Jupiter yang dikabarkan akan hadir pada Win 8.
Menurut Thurrot, AppX sudah mulai ditambahkan pada Visual Studio 2012. Apps yang dikembangkan untuk AppX bisa ditulis dengan bahasa C#, C++ atau Visual Basic.
Microsoft tidak memberikan komentar resminya soal hal ini.
