Pihak kampus mendapat informasi dari International Asteroid Search Collaboration (IASC) yang menyatakan bahwa Atul Felix Payapilly dan temannya Zhang dari China telah menemukan asteroid 'Asteroid 2010 RR52'. Demikian seperti yang dikutip dari Deccan Herald.
"Nama yang diberikan untuk asteroid tersebut masih bersifat sementara. Ke depannya orbit dari asteroid tersebut masih akan diteliti lagi," ujar Dr. Patrick Miller, pendiri dari IASC.
Asteroid tersebut akan diberi nomor dan dimasukkan dalam katalog yang dikelola oleh Minor Planet Center dan International Astronomical Union di Paris.
Begitu asteroid itu sudah dapat nomor, pelajar yang menemukan asteroid tersebut boleh memberinya nama, yang mana akan disetujui oleh International Astronomical Union.
