Dilansir Fox News, saat ini, ada lebih dari 120 lencana ditawarkan Pramuka AS, mulai dari keahlian memanah hingga bertahan hidup di pegunungan.
Pramuka AS tampaknya terus berupaya mengikuti perkembangan zaman. ya, keahlian seorang Pramuka modern kini tak hanya di bidang tali temali, baris berbaris atau mendirikan tenda tetapi merambah ke bidang yang dinamakan STEM tersebut.
Seperti diketahui, beberapa waktu lalu, Pramuka AS juga menyediakan lencana untuk keahlian bermain game.
"Abad lalu, berkemah menjadi keterampilan bertahan hidup yang sangat penting di organisasi kepramukaan. Namun zaman terus berkembang. Kami melihat STEM kini menjadi bagian keterampilan yang penting di abad ini," kata juru bicara Pramuka AS Matt Myers.
"Kami harus berusaha agar bisa tetap relevan dengan apa yang dibutuhkan anak-anak Pramuka zaman sekarang untuk dipelajari," tambahnya.
Anggota Pramuka yang berhak mendapatkan lencana keahlian robotik harus menyelesaikan tugas merancang dan membangun sebuah robot serta mempelajari pemrograman, teknologi gerak dan sensor pada robot.
