Radiasi nuklir di Jepang pascaledakan reaktor Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Nuklir di perairan Fukushima Daiichi terus meluas. Kini, radiasi dianggap telah mengancam kehidupan laut dan tanaman milik petani. Praktis, hal itu secara umum akan mengancam persediaan pangan di Negeri Sakura.
Menurut pejabat Jepang, saat ini radiasi nuklir mencapai tingkat 1.850 kali di atas normal sudah cukup mengkhawatirkan warga di Fukushima. Sejumlah warga dievakuasi juga pekerja di sebuah bangunan reaktor dinyatakan terkena radiasi nuklir dan harus dilarikan ke rumah sakit.
Dua dari reaktor aman. Tapi, empat reaktor lainnya masih tidak stabil yang ditandai dengan munculnya uap dan asap. Kendati demikian, pihak pemerintah menegaskan bakal diselesaikan dalam waktu dekat untuk memberikan rasa aman kepada masyarakat.
